Despite a very identifiable and popular perfume, the violet is a so-called mute flower, that is to say from which the perfume cannot be extracted directly. Only leaves and stems can be exploited. Their extract gives off a green smell of spicy cucumber, the opposite of the scent of the flower. To restore the fruity, delicious and slightly woody scent of its petals, Francis Kurkdjian uses Ionones (ionos means purple in Greek), odorous molecules discovered and made available to perfumers at the end of the ^19th century. In women's perfumery, violet brings a powdery facet or a taste sensation that goes very well with pink notes. In a masculine perfume, it is its green facet which is widely used.
